Oh that's so great! Yup, autistic kids and computers are a very symbiotic relationship, one definitely to be encouraged. Don't feel bad about "unmotherly" feelings of wanting time away from him. Kids with ASD and Autism are very demanding, very high maintenance and if you want to be the best mom, you have to have a break. No one can be "on" all the time.
Oh, sweetie...that photo of Jack snuggling up to Tom brought tears to my eyes. I am rejoicing with you right here and right now! And you are NOT unmotherly...you're only human. I had a day today with Dylan where I gladly would've traded him in for a new model when I took him out for a "big boy" walk and he wanted to go in every direction but the one I was headed in, lol! Ah, the joys of child-rearing, eh. I think having his own computer will be a wonderful thing for Jack and as he gets more used to it and learns more of how to run it on his own, it might give you a few more quiet moments now and then. I am really praying your "funk" clears up...no fun being there, no fun at all. Do you know...somehow I guess it never "clicked" in my mind that your Mum and my Mom both died in the same year. How weird, some of the 'coincidences' you and I have in our lives, even with all the years between us. Hugs to you, darlin' girl...someone in Portland LOVES you. And wouldn't she be about the age I am now if she was still alive? Well, I volunteer to be a sub anytime. I'm here for you...but you already know that, don't you? Nighty nite.
